from the Mayan Riviera. We had great time visiting ruins (Chichen Itza), snorkeling at a coral reef off Puerto Morelos, and discovering the dolphins, manatees and sea lions in Puerto Aventuras.

I did manage to knit a little each day. Some days, however, I frogged as much as I knitted - blame it on the margaritas, pina coladas and Cuban concussions (not a personal favorite).
This was our second visit to the Grand Mayan property at this location and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The staffing is impressive-over 1800 employees on the grounds. The pools wrap around both hotels (Mayan Palace and Grand Mayan) and offer different swimming/lounging opportunities. We took advantage of the gym/spa facilities and worked our way around to all of the restaurants. One evening we attended a Mexican show and buffet and enjoyed the contemporary folkloric performance.
